The project would be focused on data collection and analysis using the 2007 Survey of Business Owners Public Use Microdata and linking it to state-level data sources. This project involves acting as a research assistant and possibly as a coauthor on a report and/or article. We’ll be doing descriptive analysis and using regression techniques to analyze the gap in business performance by race and gender. Ideally, we would work toward an Oaxaca decomposition as a tool for understanding differences in characteristics and behavior across demographic groups of business owners.
